This promised to be the defining game of the tournament and, after this result, it may well have been.

Fellows and Mustangs have struggled to gain the upper hand over many cricket seasons with Mustangs dominant in early years and Fellows winning in recent tournaments.

This Sunday’s game handed the mantel back to Mustangs with a splendid victory that left Fellows deflated.

Fellows batting first managed 110 all out after 30 overs, with Shoaib (43) and Niroshan (27) in a partnership of 65 the only sparkle of hope.  Outside that partnership Tim managed 14 runs and the rest of the team 6 runs.

This was down to some fine bowling from Afridi (4 for 16 runs) Fahad (2 for 24) and Rauf (2 for 32) with the rest of the bowling giving little away, Happy 12 runs from his 5 overs, Vivek 7 runs from 3 overs, and Rubinder 18 from 4 taking one wicket.

Batting freely, Mustangs finished off the game in 13 overs, with Rubinder 28,  Reman 32 and Rauf not out on 30,  the batsmen not bothering too much with singles.

This was a sad day for Fellows. But they have been given notice of how far they must travel if they hope to win a third championship.
