Moufflons produced disciplined bowling and attacking batting performances to beat Fellows by 7 wickets with 8 overs to spare.
This was the first hard ball game played at the CCA ground at Tochni. Fellows won the toss and, rather surprisingly, chose to bat on the unknown surface. A hostile opening spell by Singh and Sharma restricted Fellows. The odd ball bounced high off a length and the Fellows batted cautiously - particular after early wickets fell.
To my delight, the first wicket to fall at Tochni was Singh - caught Singh, bowled Singh. It was Balbir Singh c+b by Gursimranjeet Singh. Tim Katsapas top scored with 22 with a more attacking approach as Fellows reached 107 for 8.
The score felt quite low - but as a the first innings on the surface, who could say? After 4 overs of the Moufflons' innings, it definitely felt low - Moufflons were 48/2 with Rafiqul going well. Moufflons continued their aggressive approach and knocked off the runs in 12 overs.
